- May 06, 13I have been working for months on a plan and I am ready to execute that plan to the best of my ability.2013 is my year. I'm starting with the May of Mustin. Get me to 1,011 followers on Twitter and I will release a free track each month for the rest of the year, building an EP of movie beats featuring my MC friends. These are beats I have made from scratch featuring some of my favorite movie scores. Terminator 2, Star Trek (2009), Halloween, Temple of Doom, Rocky, etc. It will be made available to you via Bandcamp as pay what you want. And I'll have unique art courtesy of Kevin Church for each month's track. I have also created a new YouTube channel for my music. I'm going to work really hard on releasing a new video each day of every track I've ever done. I'm still working on the spreadsheet of my Trackography right now, but it's going to be a lot. You'll find that I'll also be releasing music that you've never heard via this channel, such as music I've made with clients from my old recording studio. I used to keep my music as a gangster rap producer and my music as a video game music remixer separate, but now it's all the same thing. And I'm ready to share it with you all.So far in 2013 I've released Lucio Baldomero's debut album, The Master System. You can give it a listen on Bandcamp and I would love for you to purchase it and share the link with your friends. It is also on iTunes ($9.99) and AmazonMP3 ($8.99), but the physical CD ($9.99) is only available through Bandcamp. What I like about Lucio is that he writes about the game and from the game's perspective. Lucio also self-produced most of the beats here. I produced several of the tracks, and the album features the talents of Random (aka Mega Ran), Adam WarRock, Beefy, Aubrey of The Doubleclicks, and more. If you're into video game hip-hop, Lucio Baldomero is going to quickly become one of your favorites.The latest release is that of The Altered Beasts. This guitar duo is made up of William Reyes and Tim Yarbrough, both known for their guitar work with The OneUps. The album is titled "Transfiguration" and features music from the games of Super Mario 64, The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, Final Fantasy X, EarthBound, and more. The album is licensed through Joypad Records and is currently only available on Loudr.fm ($10.00) and iTunes ($9.99), but is coming to Google Play, AmazonMP3, and more. A physical CD ($10.00) will soon be available exclusively through Fangamer.net. These guys worked very hard on this album in their arrangements and performance. I did the recording, mixing, mastering, and acted as executive producer. Get it. I'm sure you'll enjoy it.For the rest of the year:- I have a track on the upcoming, highly anticipated, Final Fantasy VI: Balance & Ruin album. My track is Narshe. It's an arrangement I had intended to do with The OneUps, but since I had a borrowed sax and guitar, I just did it myself.- Beefy and I are working on an album of new original music that will release before the year's end.- I am working on my first solo release entitled "Mustin - Origins." It features previously released VGM arrangements of mine that have been remastered, along with some total reworkings. For example, I am re-creating my Super Mario Bros. 3 arrangement, "La Samba De Agua," for 2013 with a music video of me performing all of the parts.- The Movie EP will be releasing with one track per month for the rest of 2013.- Bad Dudes have teamed up with Fangamer.net to release a MOTHER series tribute album titled "Psychokinetic." Expect for an awesome and elaborate release from the biggest names in video game music arrangements and the biggest MOTHER fans/artists on the planet.- One more EP with a good friend in a genre that most people don't think about.Yes, this is going to be my year. Let me give you the run down of what is going on.
Mustin Enterprises is my record label. Under that label, you'll find artists like myself, The OneUps, Bad Dudes, Chico Ray, etc. All past branches now link to this one label. Regarding Web sites, there is a new The OneUps site, this new site, and OneUpStudios.com now redirects to MustinEnterprises.com (the forums can still be found at http://oneupstudios.com/boards). I have also created a new Bandcamp page that brings together albums previously divided by brand (http://mustinenterprises.bandcamp.com).
I have made a deal with Fangamer.net, making them my exclusive distributor of physical merchandise. This means they'll be handling all of the physical CDs, T-shirts, posters, etc. going forward. They now have the new The OneUps album, "Intergalactic Continuum," along with all previous physical CDs for The OneUps, a poster for "Intergalactic Continuum," and a new shirt designed by Jon Kay. They also have the Bad Dudes' "Metroid Arrange 25th Anniversary Album" along with a shirt designed by Kari Fry. I hope to add more and as much merch as possible. Fangamer is an excellent company focused on quality and customer service.
Every Bad Dudes track and every The OneUps track has been uploaded to YouTube. Videos were designed by Chris Dlugosz and José Felix, respectively, and were stiched by the amazing Nicole of Hello, The Future!, which is no small task considering this was over 100 tracks. Feel free to listen, enjoy and share with friends. Each page has playlists for the corresponding album for your convenience.

What I like about Lucio is that the words are relevant to the game and often from the character's perspective. - Got a little time this weekend to work on a massive accounting project. And with help and many thanks to Kunal Majmudar, that project is pretty much done. Been looming for so long. Feels good to say, "it's nearly over." Things are looking good for 2013. Kicked it off right this time with a shindig with family and friends (last year I went to bed at like 22:30 lulz). MAGFest was awesome as usual. But I would like to apologize to all of my friends and fans at MAGFest - I wasn't in the right head space. Our performance was a blast and it was fun jumping on with Metroid Metal for a crazy feature, but this is the first MAGFest that has left me with regret. I /always/ walk away from MAG on a high and ready to take on the world. But this time, I felt lousy (MAGFlu hit hard) and felt that I didn't get enough face time with nearly anyone. Thank goodness Sweetie was with me forcing me to stay out of the hotel room and socialize or I would have just stayed in my room and watched The Dog Whisperer. So if you were at MAG and I didn't see you, I'm sorry. And if you were there and I didn't spend much time with you/was distant, I'm sorry. I'm doing a lot better but I have a ways to go. Head is borked. That said, I'm very excited to further my work with Mustin Enterprises. Started off the new year with a new album (new post on that very soon) and am working hard with Beefy on finishing up a record, along with other projects. This year is going to be too legit -- 2 legit 2 quit, so hold on to something and get ready for the rumble. Thank you all for your continued support. If you didn't support me, I couldn't do all this. - Recorded half an album's worth of vocals with Lucio last night. We're hoping to record the other half tomorrow. Lucio's album is going to rock. I really hope you all will like it. I really like how he handles the lyrics - they're pretty well written from the game's character's perspective or directly about the characters. Meaning, you won't find a Castlevania beat and lyrics about doing drugs with Will Smith. It will be about Castlevania. We hope to release at MAGFest. More info soon.
